For the fear of coming across as a "Jane of All Trades, Master (or Mistress?) of None," allow me to let you in on how I conduct myself. Here you go: First and foremost, I'm a single Christian woman who lives in Tandang Sora, Quezon City, Philippines. As a Filipina in the 21st century, I consider myself modern in certain ways and independent in my thoughts, yet I still practise many of the values taught by my parents and grandparents. At 21, I just went through a lot of mind-boggling and nerve-wracking trials and challenges. I was forced to abandon the plans that I made when I was a high school student and was left with a lot of life-altering options. So after hearing the message of salvation from 702 DZAS, a Christian values radio station, I decided to turn my life over to Jesus. I found out that it was the best decision I had ever made because my steadfast faith became my anchor and life vessel as I made the journey through my twenty-something years. After taking a high school equivalency exam twice and getting satisfactory scores, I spent almost 18 months studying Short Story Writing + Freelance Journalism under a distance learning program. In 2003, I was awarded a Career Diploma by Penn Foster Career School. Also, I received a Certification after completing a two-month workshop in Basic Painting. Our art classes were held at the Soularium of the National Power Corporation. Unlike most young professionals my age, I went through a period of uncertainty during my early 20s. I wasn't earning a regular paycheck because I was exploring the possibility of accepting and tackling projects at home and getting paid on a freelance basis. I cultivated my writing skills and tried my hand at nearly all sorts of genre: essays, articles, newspaper fillers, greeting card text, poetry, and short fiction in English and Filipino. It took a while before I felt comfortable in settling with my own style. I painstakingly worked on improving as an artist, too, spending many hours on my drawing. In 2007, I found a unique opportunity to earn a profit by making and selling products made out of inexpensive card stock, colored paper, and embellishments. So I started a home-based business by offering hand-crafted greeting cards, gift cards, bookmarks, and gift tags to consumers who are looking for alternatives to traditional paper products offered at bookstores and stationery shops. I started out with a few uncertainties in my career, but now I can honestly say that I'm one of the happiest working gals alive! I wake up each morning bubbling with energy and enthusiasm, ready to face the day ahead. No "Monday blues" or "T.G.I.F.s" for me. No horrendous bosses breathing down my neck, and no irritating co-workers! Now, enough about me. Go ahead, and feel free to navigate your way around this site.
